Ongoing
maintenance

Each retirement plan requires an official plan document and other supporting documents. These materials detail how the plans operate. We draft our IRS pre-approved plan documents for your approval. We monitor and update for ongoing legislative changes, as well as discretionary changes you wish to make as your goals change.

Every pension plan must have an actuary. Your dedicated actuary is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA. This means they've reached the highest level of accreditation in the actuarial profession and is certified by the Department of Treasury to practice as a pension Actuary in the United States.

Each year, we will recommend a maximum contribution to your program that meets IRS regulations and your strategic objectives. Once the contributions are made, we will prepare signature-ready government filings (Form 5500). We are regularly available to meet with you, your financial advisor and CPA to discuss your plans and make any necessary change, as needed.

Plan
termination

Once the plan has reached its maturity it is "terminated" allowing the owner to take distributions and roll over the plan assets to other tax-qualified accounts. We prepare all the necessary amendments, calculate final benefits and facilitate the distribution and transfer of plan assets.

An Illustrative Example

A 52 year-old freelancing consultant earns $350,000 in 2025 and wishes to save the maximum allowable toward his retirement...
- With a 401(k) profit sharing plan and defined benefit plan he contributes an average of $400,000 per year over the next 10 years
- Acc
u
mulated balance of roughly $5,500,000 in retirement program 10 years at age 62
- Tax savings of about $1,500,000

- Provides significantly more savings opportunities than a SEP or stand-alone 401(k) plan

- After 10 years, the plans are terminated and accumulated assets are rolled into an IRA, requiring minimal ongoing administration
